Nobody’s Got You, Like You Got You.

The National Institutes of Health came to us to raise awareness among Black men about high blood pressure and dementia risks. The research highlighted a critical barrier: systemic healthcare inequities had led to long-standing distrust within this community.

Amid the Black Lives Matter movement, we decided to conduct extensive qualitative research, we delved into Black men’s experiences with healthcare and identified the need for messages rooted in self-agency. We crafted “Nobody’s Got You Like You Got You,” a call to action that tapped into this emerging self-empowerment, encouraging Black men to claim ownership over their health and future. This approach addressed systemic barriers while promoting an impactful narrative of resilience.

Reaching millions this public health campaign built cultural resonance. And our research equipped the NIH with crucial insights for advancing health equity in the future.
